CRAFT AND FLOWER ARRANGING WORKSHOPS

All classes 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Room 104, Casa del Prado. Coffee and sweets provided; bring your own sandwich. Bring your own clippers. To register, contact the Association at 619-232-5762. Classes limited to 10 persons and must be prepaid.


April 2008

April 1 - Necklace of Pine needles with a polished stone centerpiece and some beads, etc.
Cost: $35 for members; $40 for non-members.

April 8 - Pine Needle Baskets made with Torrey Pine needles. Bring a bucket and towel.
Cost: $30

April 15 - Needle silting, the up and coming craft to beautify everything. We will make a small purse.
Cost: $30 for members; $35 for non-members $35, plus a $20 fee for materials and needles.

May 6, 2008 Intermediate Floral Arranging, Part 1
Flower arranging for those with a basic background in flower design. Learn to make reflective, luminary and stretch designs-all types of creative designs featured in flower shows. Bring two different shaped containers, flowers, foliage and interesting driftwood or dried plant materials. Reflective materials and lights will be provided.
Cost: $25 members. $30 non-members

May 13, 2008 Intermediate Floral Arranging, Part 2
Flower arranging class for those with a basic background in floral design. Learn to make underwater and duo (two-sided) designs. Bring a large glass container, round or square, and one other large container. Bring tropical flowers (antherium, orchids, ginger, halleconia, bird of paradise, etc.) and succulents, foliage, curly willow, driftwood and palm fronds.
Cost: $25 members. $30 non-members

May 20, 2008 Intermediate Floral Arranging, Part 3
Flower arranging class for those with a basic background in floral design. Learn to make a Functional Table Design for a breakfast tray in bed. Bring a tray, plate, bowl, cup and saucer, napkin, small container and a bunch of flowers from the market in colors that compliment your dishes.
Cost: $25 members. $30 non-members

May 27, 2008 Intermediate Floral Arranging, Part 4
Flower arranging class for those with a basic background in floral design. Learn to make two types of Exhibition Table designs: One in a niche and one in a frame. Bring plates, cups, saucers, napkins, tablecloth, goblets, small easels or plate holders, candlesticks, etc. and a container that goes with your dishes. Bring flowers, foliage, etc. Frames will be available for purchase and may be ordered at previous class. Niches will be provided.
